I think it would be more effective in its design mission if you moved 1 ER-SL to the head, removed the other and replaced the CASE with a 2nd ton of ammo, so you have 10 shots before having to leave and reload, and if they crit your artillery platform before it gets 5 shots down-range, then you did something very wrong. _________________ “There was no point in getting angry at one more twit in a universe which seemed to be largely populated with twits"

I don't think I can call it a Whitworth if it dosen't have a laser in each arm; I feel bad about the head laser (& armor!), but how far can you reconfig things, and still claim it's "a model X?" _________________ Goose

A mech doesn't need a laser in both arms to be a Whitworth, the WTH-2 only has a ML in the head, along with it's 2 LRMs. Changing from 1 launcher in each Side Torso to a single launcher in the Right Torso is a bigger frame changer than the lasers and frankly 2 ER-SL aren't even a serious threat to a Locust, or infantry. There basically a waist of tonnage for all practical purposes and wasting a 1/2 ton to give the pilot the moral boost of having something for backup is better than wasting 5 more shots with his main weapon. Alternately you can replace the CASE with a 3-rd ER-SL in the Head and with 3 he could wade in after taking his 5 shots and may actually get a few crits in while being ignored for having such light weaponry remaining. Personally I would prefer to get 5 more missiles down range then have him leave. Landing a single HE round in the same hex as a target does more damage than 8 hits from those SL, and even a near miss from one of those monsters will do as much a 5 hits from those little flashlights. _________________ “There was no point in getting angry at one more twit in a universe which seemed to be largely populated with twits"
