What you folks think? Can the fighters take out the frigate and it's fighters or is the warship to much for them to deal with?

well that depends.....
is the frigate a picket ship designed to counter large vessels or small vessels....
if it counters large, i'd say odds are against it.
if it counters small, the odds are more in favor of the frigate.
if you allow bombs to be deployed in space as torpedo's, then i'd say the frigates screwed.

The ship is a frigate, as defined by Battletech and it's ideas on space vessels. The fighters are same kind you would find everywhere in the game.

No.
The Battlespace/Aerotech rules have to be changed to include a damage scale for fighters and small craft, antoher for Dropships, and another for warships.
Fighters are not going to do anything with their weapons to such a target as large as a warship.
However, fighters would be a threat to ships if they carried something like torpedos or bombs.
I can think of an antiship version of an Arrow IV, that would be a start.
Now that I think of it, you could use conventional bombs in space as well, just fly in an collision course, accelarate the most, and drop the bomb and pull away. In absence of gravity and air resistance, the bomb will continue to travel with the same speed and course as the original fighter flight path, to crash with the ship.
At the speeds of space combat, such a projectile would have enough kinetic energy to bury itself into the target armor (it would have to be an armor piercing bomb, of course) before exploding. The blast effect would be far more limted, though since the only one that would exert it is the gas from the explosion of the bomb...

Not to rain your on your ideas...but may I suggest you read the Aerotech 2 rules again...things have changed again...fighters CAN take on warships and hurt them.
Interesting ideas though that you have.

IIRC, in Battlespace squadros of fighters could damage a Warship, or destroy it since they lacked anti fighter weaponry. In Aerotech 2 is very much the same.
Me thinks that the designer watched too many times Star Wars. If he had only recalled that Luke Skywalker destroyed the Death Star by using proton torpedoes (missiles) and not his fighter guns we would have decent rules for fighter attacks on ships.

Actually point defense weapons have gotten better so the fighters are not immune to return fire...the ships in TR3067 are a little better then their 3057 counter parts.

Under the rules, it only takes 10% armor damage to a single facing to risk a vacuum-causing breach. This kinda makes things interesting, and yes, does give fighters a chance of taking out larger ships.

In 3050 Tyra Miraborg crashed her fighter into the IlKhan's flagship, killing him.
I don't recall if the whole ship was destroyed, but it's a good example of how a single fighter can affect a battle.
This one stopped the clan invasion cold!

Tyra Miraborg was not the result of playing a game of BattleSpace. Although a character in the MechWarrior RPG might try hitting the bridge of a Warship - if the GM approves.

I am only going from my fading memory of the battlespace rules....but...
Is there some kinda rule that says that fighters do damage that is comparable to the damage caused by mechs, but that damage points done by capital ships differ from mech damage by a factor of ten? (so, ten points of damage from a mech --or fighter-- is only one point of damage to a capital ship's armor)
Please let me know if I am wrong about this, or just delusional

It is correct for BS but not for AT2.
