Does anyone think this could happen in the near future?
If so please give your reasons has to why and what the outcome would be...
Looking forward to the ideas and events...

Considering the new Stealth Armor and (the fake) Thomas Marik's problem with the real Thomas Marik, I'd give the edge to the CCAF. But I can't think of much of a reason they'd go to war.

Doubt it.
Fake Thomas Marik has set himself up as a piecemaker in the small circle of House Leaders. Him declaring a war against House Liao would pretty much blow his creditability away.
Sun-Tzu, on the other hand, realizes that the Free Worlds League military, if fully mobilized, would most likely roll over its first wave targets. Those planets would be lost, and further waves would only serve to cause more damage to the Capellan Confederation-damage that would undo all the hard work that he put into his realm.
No, if there is conflict between the two houses, it would probably be border skirmishes, probes, or rogue elements of either military.
Unless, of course, the Real Thomas Marik does something.

le sigh, second attempt.....
i actually toyed with this idea abit, this is what i came up with....
growing political instabilities in side the FWL [caused by yet unknown entity, maybe by WoB's pressence] gives sonny boy the chance to seize more worlds. he lays out a polly saying Thomas Marik has betrayed and dishonored him, by using his innocent daughter as a means to manipulate the Confederation.
he openly calls for the warrior houses to defend the confederations honor and strike at the FWL. thru the use of his pressence of being [charisma and leadership] the gets the warriors so worked up that they demand war. which serves his purpose just fine.
while he's doing this he sends out a hand selected strike force of warships whom's objective is to criple the ability of the FWL to respond with there space navy. a pearl harbor if you will. with the lose of mobility thru the crippling of his navy, the full force of the FWL troops cannot be brought against sonny boy's troops right away.
taking advantage of this, Sun Tzu grabs key board worlds and attempts to get some of the lesser city states of the FWL to support him or atleast not support Thomas. further weekining Thomas's power base and ability to respond. since Sonny boy is using the ruse that this is a vendeta of honor, those not threatened should jump at the chance to remain nuetral.
then before straining his forces to the limit and just as the pressure from the Star League is mounting [which should give sonny boy some time seen as everybody else just finished fighting one way or another. they'll not want to get immediatly drawn back into another war] he calls Marik out for a battlemech joust or somethin. to end this destructive conflict in a way that the Knight like Thomas cannot refuse.
during this contest, even before, sonny boy insures that even if he [or his campion] looses that he can retain controll of the territory he has taken. if he wins it will most deffintly insure that the FWL will press for new leadership, meaning sonny boy wins again.
so as long as he works it right, and uses his strongest weapon in his advantage. he can insure a win win situation. and in the possability that he does loose, he uses the whole 'it was a matter of honor' cover as a way to worm his way out of it.
that my conjecture, based on little fact and allot of guessing.

What if Isis somehow gets the throne and wants a little payback against Sunny boy for tossing her out? Never underestimate the revenge capabilities of a woman.

Wow. I guess there are more reasons that I thought. I'll admit, with some unhappiness, that I've had a hard time placing myself in Sun-Tzu's shoes. He's kinda scary smart at times. And I've never been good at politics. (Ian Davion anyone?)
As for the CC Navy crippling the FWL navy, I have a healthy dose of skepticism.
As for Isis wanting revenge, I'm not real sure about that. She seemed to love Sun-Tzu, and prolly still does, which is not really to her benefit. But really, this is all conjecture. The real Thomas Marik might regain control of the FWL and have his own reason to teach "Sonny Boy" a lesson.

Yeah, I'd rather see Hasek step up out of the Cappellan March and kick some Liao arse anyway. Since he's already taking a stronger stance as a march lord he should go mop up some cappellans to keep them in their place.

ya..... the us said the same thing in 1942, see where it got the first fleet?
now, note that i said 'cripple' not 'destroy'.... it is by far easier to impeed its ability to wage war then it is to stop its ability.
now, do i believe it could happen.... maybe not, did i toy with the idea, yes. but out of everybody in the inner sphere, Sun Tzu is by far the greatest polotician in existence. i say even better then katherin. she was power hungery and was willing to assasinate people to get it. Sun Tzu is also power hungery, but uses less volitile means.
katherin thought herself untouchable, Sun Tzu knows all to well that he is not, seen as he laid in the viper nest for so long. he smart, wise, ambitious, and determined. he'll wait for an oppertunity to open up, and then he'll strike. just like the snake he is.
btw, fyi..... i despise sonny boy, but i can see a man for who he is.

And with the armor factors on those ships it is not going to be too hard to cripple them either...the only thing is some Marik ships are not going to get hit, there are too many of them, sonny boy could be in a big world of hurt, especially if a couple of things go wrong in his plans, especially something like a loyal Marik citizen or two who does not bow to his whims. But overall he could do alot of damage with that basic plan.

True enough, but tactics is Talon Zahn's department, Sun-Tzu is smart enough to have realized he is not a warrior.
As for skill, Sun-Tzu has earned my respect the hard way. I hate his guts, but you have to admire his skill. He inherited a shattered realm and rebuilt it into a strong, if small, nation.
