Overview:
    Production of the Omni Catapult began shortly after the black out in 4 out of 5 Great
    Houses.  The design was perfected after the Jihad, but with Stone declaring peace there was
    no reason to begin manufacturing it.  Instead the production rights were sold to anyone
    willing to buy them.

Capabilities:
    Historically Catapults have followed a motto akin to "if it fits it ships."  So while the
    base model is known for its LRMs and medium lasers,  what you faced on the field could be a
    crap shoot.  The Omni Catapult is intended to embrace this philosophy.   As much tonnage and
    space as was economical feasible was reserved for the shoulder mounted weapons pods.

Deployment:
    The only faction that does not use Omni Catapults is the Cappelen confederation.  And the
    reason for that is they're a bit too proud of their Catapult II.

Variants:
    The schematics for a second variant, The Omni Catapult XL, are also known to be distributed.
    Designed with even greater available tonnage for weapons, if it's ever produced would form
    the basis for hard hitting configurations beyond tge reach of the standard Omni Catapult.
    For now however the need to maximize the volume of production has seen the much more
    expensive variant side lined.  It's expected appearance will be swift when it comes.
    Retooling the production lines from the standard Omni Catapult won't be difficult or time
    consuming.
