Question for you guys.
Karagin's Tank over in the design folder got me thinking. In the past, I've participated in some large scale PBEM campaigns where the units were lances, and the battles were fought on the side.
If I were to chase down the rules for the last one I played in, and come up with a map, think we could put together a couple forces vying for the control of a continent?
You folks would get the enjoyment of creating your own lances (within reason), and I might actually get a few scenarios to run at TotalCon Next year.
If there is any interest, I'll go find my "battle" rules and see how to get this started.

Great, who let Pinhead start to think. Now we're all in trouble. I thought we took your brain away a couple TotalCons ago. Who gave you a transplant? _________________ Mordel Blacknight - Site Administrator

if its quick you can count me in. one problem with PBeM's is that they can be slow slow. Oh and lets have some reasonalbe BV limits. I'm sick and tired of PBeM games where everyone but like two people takes 75 tons or higher, thats just so boring.
Raven, bored!

Scenario I am debating has 3 merc companies assaulting a Davion held planet garrisoned by 2 combined arms companies.
Yeah I know that is seriously understrength but I want to see how this goes to begin with.
The defenders will have a number of areas with interesting reasons to defend, and one nasty area that turns into a nasty nut to crack if the attackers force them to consolidate.
The Attackers will have multiple objectives and a limited time to accomplish them before planetary reinforcements drop in on their heads.
The idea behind it is to see who can marshall their forces, handle their resupply trains, and outplan the others. The ones I played also recognized the ability for the field commander to think on their feet (grin).
Ok I'll paw around tonight and see what I can find for the rules we used.

And a "rookie" pilot in an inherited Spector just dumped a Penatrator on his ass
Because of the type of game it is logic says take as big a mech as you can.
But as everyone will admit to, logic plays very little role in B'tech.

I'm glad someone finally got to Hardware. I was thinking in the next game he could just be a pillbox instead of a Mech, It was getting hard for me to tell the difference

It wasn't Hardware, it was the original pilot waiting for "help". If Hardware moved at all he would need a minimum of 11 to hit, so he chose to stand still and take his chances needed 10s.
He got a few hits at that number while staying undamaged while not moving. He had to move when Jymset was able to begin firing at him. Luckily Kerry decided to blast away and do what he can in that mech.
First volly in that plan went decidedly to Kerry.

I'm not dead yet.
And I'm in if Pinhead decides to go ahead with this.
