==Overview:==
The Taurian Concordat has recently discovered two major problems:
1. Overstock AC/10s due to halting the shipments to the Marian Hegenomy.
2. The Quikscell Defender helicopter and its popularity among Davion forces.
In desperation, the Concordat took it upon themselves to attempt to solve both
problems at once. A VTOL was commissioned that could deal with the new
Defender and hopefully counter it should Davion units ever invade.
The center of the armament is a single AC/10, backed up by a lone SRM 2. The
AC/10 gives it the punch needed to tear into the Defender's armor, while the
SRM 2 allows for the unit to exploit breaches once they are made. It is hoped
that this combination will allow for the quick destruction of any Defenders.
==Capabilities:==
As has been pointed out by the design team, the Defender's main armament is an
AC/2, which Davion pilots have begun to load with specialty ammunitions- armor
peircing being the most common. Although the AC/2 can't do a lot of damage, it
still out-ranges the AC/10. And as both helicopters move at the same speed, a
skilled Defender pilot could easily stay out of range and snipe until the
pursuing Chickenhawk's armor was ripped apart. As it is, it is expected that
the Defender units wil be deployed in teams, while Chickenhawks are expected
to be lone wolfs. To make matters worse, rumors have Defenders, Kiowas, and
Weedwhackers potentially working together.
The design teams have been trying to tell this to their superiors, but to no
avail. The AC/10 is still the official main armament.
==Deployment==
Officially, this unit will see front-line action interdicting other VTOLs.
However, those close to the project who value human life have begun to
instruct pilots to either customize their units with long-range weapons or use
someone else as bait. That is, if they decide to go after other VTOLs.
In an ironic twist, the AFFS is considering copying the design in order to use
their new munitions with it. A thank-you note is pending.
(Precentor- I know that this is not standard to discuss, but I for one find it
rather hilarious.)
