For IE I use Yahoo's. Of course, I use Netscape a lot now, and they have one built in.

The free version on this blocks stuff on both IE and Nutscrape...the pay version works for most others

I just go into the security options and turn off the Java, cut and paste, and scripting allowances. I have yet to get a pop up. sights wiorth frequenting go into the trusted sites area.
I use IE by the way.
I get NO pop ups, and save my $

I just d/l'ed the free one and left java on so I still get to see the stuff I want to plus can open all the java windows that appear on the sites I browse.

Dl-ed a free one too ( kinda funny to I saw the add in a pop up) and have yet to get another. have the thing in my yahoo mailbox if anyone wants it.

You have to be a trusted site to work with all the scripts you have running. I put it on "notify" one day. Shesh, it darn near turned me into a yes man!
About all I have running are the basic firewall, and antivirus for this site.
What I really hate is Parasite ware. Stuff that you get for free, but has a "spy" app that runs in the background.
Netzero and them are upfront about it, but there are several that are pretty sneaky. Some one posted the URL to a good "cleaner" app. to spot these and clear them. I found that most of my spy whatzits belonged to media or shopping sites I go thru.
