=Overview=
Pleased with the success of the Pejskahar, a light highly mobile infantry fighting vehicle, the Russian High Command decided to engage in a program of upgrading their military forces to make all have the same capabilities and strengths that are expressed in the Pejskahar. The simplification in maintance and supply is also worthy of note, allowing more units to be placed into the field faster, and decrease down time for repair.

The Glasnost is the replacement Main Battle Tank for the Po Heavy Tank so commonly used by the Russian forces. However, due to the current tensions between the Cappellen Confederation and Russian allies in the Chaos March, a new source of supply was deemed necessary. Since the Dzerhezinsky Tractor Works has been building up its lines and development capabilities, the Russian High Command awarded them a contract to design and build the first homegrown Russian MBT.

=Capabilities=
The Glasnost has all the advantages of any Omni unit, including a limitless combination of weapon systems and equipment choices that allow the Glasnost to take almost any role on the battlefield. The Tractor Works supports four primary systems.

The Prime variant is the main battle tank being used to replace the Po, and is the most common system being placed onto the battlefield. Armed with a heavy autocannon and an excellent missile system, the Prime variant is an excellent line tank, with a good damage profile and plenty of antiarmor capability.

The Alpha version has been designed to support the Prime from the line, using LRM and SRM systems to have a variable range engagement zone, depending on what is needed on the field at the time. The missiles are able to be outfitted with a number of different warheads, which can be used to control the battlefield in a strategic role while others provide tactical support through inferno and SWARM ammunition.

The Beta version provides rear echelon support through the use of engineering tools and technologies to make an excellent tank for engineering companies. Equipped with SRMs, machine guns, and heavy flamers it can also be used as a nasty bunker buster and has seen some use on the field of battle.

The last version is unique due to the fact that it was meant to be produced off world. The FWL ambassador spent many months negotiating for off site production licences so that the FWL could add their own weapon systems. Finally it would be agreed that the FWL would import weapons to Bryant in exchange for tanks. However, the Russians have gotten the better deal, using the price of the tank to get more weapons then necessary. As such, some special forces units have been assinged this unit now that the Russians control production. Many other units are being sold to nations friendly to Bryant.

=Deployment=
With a large number deployed, the Glasnost is on equal footing with the Po for numbers in the Russian army, and is quickly expanding. Around the Chaos March richer nations are starting to deploy units composed of Glasnost units. The FWL is also deploying the unit, but only in the Charlie configuration.
