I am not sure if this falls under "political" topics or not, but it was on my mind and I feel like letting it out.
I have a friend from where I grew up, not a close friend but someone I've known for years, who was injured in the recent fighting. Apparently he is not in danger of dying, but he has to come back to the states to get some grenade shrapnel removed. Anyways, news from him on the Iraq situation is that a good portion, if not the majority, of the people involved in the uprising are not even Iraqi citizens, but are Islamic mercs hired by neighboring countries (especially Syria). This is not something I have heard on the news at all, but it seems to me a rather important detail.
