Type/Model: Jaghond
Tech: Inner Sphere / 2758
Config: Biped BattleMech
Rules: Level 1, Standard design

Mass: 75 tons
Chassis: GM Marauder Special Standard
Power Plant: 300 Vlar Fusion
Walking Speed: 43.2 km/h
Maximum Speed: 64.8 km/h
Jump Jets: None
Jump Capacity: 0 meters
Armor Type: GC Slab Standard
Armament:
2 Sterling Laser Systems Large Lasers
2 Magna Longbow-15 LRM 15s
Manufacturer: General Motors of Kathil
Location: Kathil
Communications System: Dalban StarLink Classic
Targeting & Tracking System: Dalban HiRez-B

==Overview:==
The Jaghond was a short run take off of the Marauder. The mech was built to meet a contractical obligation forced on GM by the SLDF Quatermaster Crops.

The mech was part of a then highly secrete project that involved testing new ideas and theories on how to build Battlemechs.

No one is sure if any of these machines left with General Kerensky and the SLDF during their exodus from the Inner Sphere or if they all perished in the brutal fighting to retake Terra.

==Capabilities:==
The Jaghond seems to combine parts of the Marauder and the Catapult, but it has neither of those machines best parts. More like a combination of the two and a hope for the best.

The Jaghond does have devent ranged firepower but has no secondary weaponary. This is a major draw back and on that would mean certain death on the battlefield.

==Battle History:==
None that is recorded. This mech and it's brothers could have played a role in the retaking of the Terran Hegemongy and some may have survived to leave with the SLDF. No records at the GM headquaters show what actually happen to these mechs.

==Variants:==
Several variants seemed to have exsisted. Of the ones recorded, do one of the following or both, drop the Longbow LRM15s down to Longbow LRM10s and adjust the ammo as needed to allow for secondary weapons to be added.

The other variant would lower the speed of the Jaghond down to no slower then 50kph at a run and drop down to the Longbow LRM10s to get PPCs on the machine and secondary weapons.

There may have been other variants but no record has been found.

==Capabilities:==
The Jaghond Mk seems to combine parts of the Marauder and the Catapult, just as it's parent mech does, but it has neither of those machines best parts. More like a combination of the two and a hope for the best.

The Jaghond does have devent ranged firepower but unlike it's parent which has no secondary weaponary the Mark 2 does have secondary weapons plus jump jets. This removes the problem presented by the parent. All of this is done using better state of the art materials like Endo and Extra Light engine technology.

==Battle History:==
None that is recorded. This mech and it's brothers could have played a role in the retaking of the Terran Hegemongy and some may have survived to leave with the SLDF. No records at the GM headquaters show what actually happen to these mechs.

Several variants seemed to have exsisted. Of the ones recorded, do one of the following or both, drop the Longbow LRM15s down to Longbow LRM10s and adjust the ammo as needed to allow for more secondary weapons to be added.

The other variant would lower the speed of the Jaghond down to no slower then 50kph at a run and drop down to the Longbow LRM10s and go back to the parent mech's large lasers instread of the PPCs mainly to reduce the heat. On this same line there existed one version that dropped the Longbows down to the 10 size to add in an extra heat sink or two to keep the PPCs and to deal with their higher heat.

There may have been other variants but no record has been found.

I like the original version. But the second version has that pesky XL engine with no increase in speed. The extra weapons just make it die a little later is all.

I do like them both though.

Thanks, I have run the original in combat twice and it didn't get into the thick of things, instead I used it as support mech.

I am hoping someone tries out both versions or one of the suggested variants in combat and let's me know how they do or don't do.

They look solid on paper. (And a hint of Mad Cat in there ) I'll let you know if I get a chance to play with them.

Thanks! Looking forward to the AAR on that fight. And nice find on the hint. I was hoping someone would catch that...
