For those who have read the book or heard of it. Dirk Gently is alive and well in the Federated Suns as late as 3024.
"Dirk Gently's Detective and Information Agency, a division of Interconnectedness Unlimited, speciallizes in marital cases. Their many agents follow wayward spouses, deal with kidnappers, and deliver hearfelt sermons on the interconnectedness of all things. This is an homage to the company's founder who lived about a thousand years ago and believed, quite rightly, that all things in the universe are related."
I've read the book Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency but this is the first time I've seen a reference to it in a totally non related book.
I found it in the House Davion book on page 170.

Seems someone liked Dirk Gently quite a lot. It was a good book, IIRC.
