OKay here's an odd one.
One HBK-4G Hunchback
vs
Four UM-R60 UrbanMechs
One map sheet only of random choosing.
PLayed this twice, went either way.
First one was against a bot I piloted the HBK.
I did good at first but was getting torn up. Managed to take out the last Urbie with only a medium and small laser remaining. Had very little armor left and no RA. Structure was failing as well.
Second time I played the 4 Urbies against Ralgith in the HBK. Went okay at first then I lost two Urbies and he was doing okay, then his armor was getting thinner, ended up taking him down with a DFA and forcing him from the field with my last Urbie. I won technically but it could have gone either way if there was another map.
They both have 10 shots with their AC's but the Urbies have 4 of them and 6 hexes longer range, the HBK has only his one AC but can take out either arm, leg, or side torso with one shot.
As I found out, it is an amazingly challenging scenario.
Who do you think would win?

I'd say the Urbanmechs have the advantage, but they'll definitely take casaulties. The Urbies want nice open terrain, so they can get in a few shots before the Hunchback starts shooting back. I definitely like the idea; I'll have to try this one myself.

The Urbies should win by weight of numbers alone. Just move as a group and shoot at the Hunchback. Even if one Urbie is hit and falls, the others continue firing. The Hunchback is alone and will ultimately experience the Seventh Tradition: Always kick a man when he's down.

In the first one I played my first three shots I managed to hit with hit three different Urbies, I hit RT, RA, RT. Those 3 shots removed the Urbie's AC/10 and reduced them to the fire power of an infantry platoon. I took a crit on my engine on the first round they fired at me(DANG NABBIT!!) and it severly limited my shooting potential.

Using even the most basic of tactics the Urbies win this in a laugher...

Long Live the Urbie! I like the Hunckback for its city brawler status, but it is vulnerable and combined might of 4 Urbies is too much for the it to handle. I agree with the assessment that there would be casualties.

It depends on how they meet. 4 against 1 then the Trashcans should win. It they are met in series, then the Hunchback will clean house...

You guys need to play this scenario. As I said, it is suprisingly challenging. Play either force, you will find it fun and harsh at the same time.
Having played this a few more times, it is amazing just how fast the HBK can render a UM nearly toothless. You could in the first four rounds of firing be facing 4 small laser wielding trashcans.

I think a lot would depend on the distribution of AC/10 shots on the Hunchback. Even if the Urbanmechs blow off the whole left side of the Hunchback, they havn't impaired it's offensive prowess very much. The story is very different for an Urbanmech, because of their lighter armor, and the amazing damage potential of the AC/20. Knockdowns could potentially be important as well. If only 50% of the Urbanmechs hit, the Hunchback has to make a knockdown roll, essentially paralyzing it for a round.
