Okay the mech match up here takes the Falcon found originally in the Dragoon sourcebook and pits against the standard 3025 Panther.
Now here I am going to change the battlefields around some what...
How would these two fair against each other in the following:
Desert Hills
Low grav with rough terrain and hills
And all oldy but goody:
The old lake map from Map set one.

Originally, I thought that the Panther would emerge victorious in most engagements. However, after reviewing the designs again, I realize the match up is a lot close that expected. Although the PPC carried by the Panther can devastate the Falcon with just a few shots, the Falcon's weaponry, when used up close, can dealt some serious damage. It is crucial that the Falcon closes quickly with the Panther to get under the range of the PPC. If it can take the SRM hits, the medium laser, the 2 small lasers and the machine gun will chew away at the Panther's armor. The Falcon can also handle the heat build up a lot better that the Panther.
That being, said, I would put my money on the Panther during the lake map engagement. It can use the lake to keep the Falcon at a distance for a longer period of time to maximize the use of the PPC. The mech can also use the water to cool down when heat levels get too high.
The low grav map would work in the Falcon favor, allowing it to close quickly and enter into its optimal firing range. I would bet on the Falcon in this one.
