I was wondering. What do you call someone who's from Tharkad? I know that they have the adjective Tharkan, like a Tharkan wolf or Tharkan winter, but it sounds kinda stange to call someone a Tharkan. Does any one know?

And now that I think of it, what do you call someone from Luthien? Or Sian? Or Kooken's Pleasure Pit?

We are Sianese if you please...

We are Sianese if you don't please...

We are former residents of Sian...

Ok, joke over.

That's actually pretty funny. Especially since I haven't yet managed to read it in a normal tone; I end up singing it in my head instead of reading it in my head.

But Sianese. That actually makes sense, too. Which also makes it funnier.

And then there's "drunk and happy."

That's the problem with Kooken's Pleasure Pit. People do actually live on the planet; they have kids and stuff. It must be a fun conversation to have with an eight year old girl.

"So Mommy, if that one's Tharkad, then what planet are we on then?"
"We live on Kooken's Pleasure Pit, honey."

I would imagine it to be something like raising a family in Las Vegas. Maybe part of the planet is the "family friendly" section? It would make sense... be an excuse for those who have families but want to vacation there anyway... drop off the family in the "nice" section then go hit the casinos, etc.

It is a pleasure planet. Run by a crime family. The Lyran gov't has been trying to clean it up for decades, maybe even centuries.

I realize being a FedCom that I'm perhaps too simplistic here, but wouldn't an easy solution be to use the planet for training.

Kill two birds with one stone: get live fire training for your army for orbital assaults, and clean up the mess.

No. Dustball is run by a crime family. Kooken's Pleasure Pit is a pleasure planet run by the Lyrans.

The next to the last page has the info about both Dustball and Kooken's Pleasure Pit.
