Any comments? I heard Athlon blows Intel away for gaming, and the vid card is worth it....I was looking to spend only around 1200-1300, but I guess I have to drop some money if I don't want to replace it next year... _________________ I have the right to remain silent. No matter what you've got your computer will be outdated in a year. kinda sad. I only recommend making sure your computer is easily upgradeable. Mine is and I've had the same PC for 5 years now (with some new and exchanged components, of course). Still runs great, as you can see.

Only 5 years Mordel?
I must agree though. Make sure it is upgradable. Mine has been evolving part by part since my 486 i got piecemeal from a friend. Oldest part is currently my 3.5 floppy (roughly 11 years) Newest part is 900Mhz AMD Duron processor( about 4-5 years old) _________________ If ignorance is bliss, then why are you so miserable?

Comments? Not much, really. What kind of monitor will you be using with that? It's worth a good one, like a quality 19'' CRT or 17'' LCD.

Regarding upgradability - I'm actually not sure what I should be looking for here. Like PCI slots, or...? I know it's not PCI-Express compatible...
And the monitor I'm going for is a 19'' CRT from my Gateway box about 5 years ago...still works great as far as I know. The monitor I'm typing this out on is a cheap NEC 17'', and it tends to flicker whenever I'm running FPS-intensive games.

One factor that some people overlook is simply the amount of space you have in the case, or "under the hood" so to speak.
Having lots of open slots is always a good thing as well...speaking of which, it's about time to add another hard drive to my own comp. _________________ "The enemy's gate is down."

AGP. Or the next generation of PCI. My computer has exclusively PCI slots on the motherboard and as a result I cannot play the next generation of games (like Deus Ex 2). _________________ "Politics is the Art of looking for trouble, finding it everywhere, misdiagnosing the problem, and applying the wrong solution."

Comments? Why is this not on my desk?
Looks pretty good. Certainly has lots of hard drive space.
Not much more I can say. I'm one of those who knows enough to get by, but not enough to be specific. Like a step above knowing enough to be dangerous to oneself and others.
Oh, and one more thing.
