What does the Swarm Attack do?

That's an attack command for infantry and battlearmor. Not sure of the rules for it as my infantry in megamek haven't been able to get close enough to use it yet.

Perhaps he means the LRM ammo?
I don't use MegaMek so I don't know if swarm is an option there for LRMs...

It is an option but it must be mounted in the initial stages of the game. And during weapons fire stage if you have two or more types of ammo for a given weapon you can designate which type you are firing that round.

Nope, I'm talking about the infantry attack. I got my Cavaliers close enough to mount an enemy Clint IIC, but they never seemed to do anything.

after the infantry has swarmed the target, the next turn you give them attack orders. this attack uses the primary weapon and always hits. in addition, there is a chance at dealing a crit even thru the armor.
standard strategy is to do this, first leg attack the target mech. this does dmg to the targets legs and can deal crits to the leg actuators, even blow off the leg. this cripples the units ability to move, then you swarm.
the weakness is this, anytime the target jumps or falls when your have swarmed them. your infantry has a chance to fall off and suffer damage. also, if they move into lvl 2 water they can insta kill your infantry.

Try Salamander battlearmour, swarm, next round set your flamers to heat instead of damage and let them rip.
5 salamanders. Each with 2 flamers. each flamer can jack a mech's heat up by two. Do your sums.

No, they're two leggers. And if Erenon says they can swarm, then I geuss they can. I've never used them.

They are two legged Clan battlearmour (or elementals considering that they are piloted by elemental pilots) designed specifically for urban warfare and anti-infantry operations.
it's armed with two flamers and an a single shot inferno srm. Its all about FIRE baby. It's the suit of choice for pyromaniacs.
