My funniest Mega Mek moment happened a few minutes ago:
I was playing cat-and-mouse with my VTR-9B Victor against a computer-controlled THG-11E Thug, getting my clock cleaned due to a few unlucky Piloting rolls (made for running and turning on pavement or something). The final turn I think I have (the next turn I was sure he would finish me off), I manage to get initiative, jump behind him, and get a critical hit to his head with my AC/20. Being the imaginative person I am, I play this scenario over and over in my head, laughing at the picture of my nearly-scrapped Victor emerging victorious over the dominating Thug.
I laughed for about 10 minutes. _________________ Evil is like a bowl of oranges. Only one, instead, is an orange of DOOM. That orange has a fate to rule over the other oranges with an iron fist. That orange is me.

That is pretty funny. That indeed is a very peculiar picture in my mind.Something like that happened to me when i was fighting a Gladiator in my Nova.I was also getting scrapped pretty fast. But like you i jumped be hind him and got a crit with a lbx 10 and that was pretty awsome.

I prefer when I needed a 12 to hit with a gauss rifle at max range, fired, and decapitated a Thunderhawk

Well, the two times I fielded ERPPC-carrying Clan 'mechs in games against IS lvl1 units*, both times I decapitated the Crusader always fielded by my friend in the first turn. Which obviously didn't do much to raise its esteem in my eyes!
Talking about head-shots galore, one time a friend of mine and I had a clan-vs-clan tech fight, without honour rules. He was fielding a Daishi, Loki and Black Hawk, I took a Gladiator, Thor and Ryoken. Seeing as there were some 'mechs there that had heavy weaponry, I decided to go with the UAC20 variants on all three omnis.
The Daishi and Black Hawk lost their head in the first turn. Needless to say, the Loki was a hole in the ground by turn 3.
Hey, it was funny as all hell...... but not a lot of fun.
*a fairly popular way of playing with us in the later 90s. Of course, we played large battles, where we didn't count BV or tonnage. We just used 5-1 odds in terms of units deployed.

My brother and I played once. We set the BV at something. I brought an Axeman and he brought Highlander. We had some other smaller mechs (I remember he brougth a little bugger with 11-15 running and armed with an ER PPC).
Anyways, our screening forces got creamed pretty early on and my Axeman lost a leg in a lake. Have you ever tried standing up in a lake with one leg? It was like Splish-Splash for three or four turns. Anyway, Steve's Highlander does death from above into the Lake. Barely misses, falls over, flat on his face. That's the turn I manage to stand up. I use the hatchet. Head shot. Game over.
I don't think I'd done much more than scratch the paint prior to that. Maybe one other head shot. _________________ "Politics is the Art of looking for trouble, finding it everywhere, misdiagnosing the problem, and applying the wrong solution."

I'd have to think my funniest moment was in a game that I played against my brother. We were both using a couple big clan mechs. The first turn of weapons fire, my brother gets a head shot on me with one of his ERPPCs. Needless to say, I was not happy. However, given the wonders of the game that we play in that all fire happens at the same time, I still got to shoot back, for which I then hit him back with one of my ERPPCs in his head. He was pissed. Meanwhile, I just laughed for a good 10 minutes afterwards I believe.

I learned something early on in BT. NEVER jump into a lake. I lost a mech in the first round by trying to cut through a lake. I missed my piloting roll and landed on my head. Unfortunately my pilot did not survice the fall and my friend got a free mech that just needed pulled from the bottm.
