I would suggest ditching the RLs and going with real weapons. The RLs are more suited to vehicles then to mechs.
At least with other weapons you can stick around longer and not run out of ammo as fast as with the RLs. These are hit or miss weapons, and once you use them they are gone...if you want one shot weapons go with a bunch of OS Streak SRM2s...At least then you get more then one chance.
I agree completely. This wasn't so much a real 'Mech as it was a criticism of the RL 'Mechs in 3067. A few are good despite the RLs, but most of them just suck. So I took those designs to the apparent logical conclusion - a 'Mech with almost nothing but RLs.
It was more of a joke 'Mech than anything - or at least a not-really-serious 'Mech. I geuss it didn't come out as well as I thought.

A joke mech...now that is something I did miss...given that when the RLs came out folks were doing everything they could with them etc...so I was under the impression you were doing up one of those.
Glad to see I am not the only one who isn't into the RLs on mechs.

Rest assured you are not alone in your disdane for "landscaping tools" I have hundres of designs I have made vehicles mechs and aerospace...I have exactly one that has RLs a 15 ton conventional fighter that had ,5 ton left over so I shoved a RL 10 in the nose just because nothing else would go (Low tech faction) In fact for my higher tech faction I designed a special singlr shot Air-Air missile launcher to take up odd fractional tonnage .

Exactly. The only time I've seriously considered using an RL on a real design was when I had a half ton left and was using a targeting computer. And even then I changed the 'Mech to put something else on.
(Sorry for the late post - for some reason I never noticed that this thread got any replies.)
