Here's my latest heavy design. Tell me what you think.
EDIT: Corrected a small design flaw pointed out by Seraph.
Type/Model: Brash 26K
Tech: Inner Sphere / 3051
Config: Biped BattleMech
Rules: Level 2, Custom design
Mass: 70 tons
Chassis: 1A Type 3 Standard
Power Plant: 280 GM Light Fusion
Walking Speed: 43.2 km/h
Maximum Speed: 64.8 km/h
Jump Jets: None
Jump Capacity: 0 meters
Armor Type: Valiant Lamellor Standard
Armament:
2 Firmir MaxiLase Large Lasers
4 Firmir Standard Medium Lasers
2 Firmir LaserLite Small Lasers
1 Lightning Strike PPC
1 Datacom 50 Guardian ECM
Manufacturer: General Motors
Location: Kathil
Communications System: Dalban Micronics
Targeting & Tracking System: Corean CalcMaster
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
==Overview:==
Designed as a frontline heavy 'mech, the Brash is based on schematics found in
an old manufacturing facility on the planet Vincente. Pushed into production
after a rushed development cycle, the Brash has nevertheless proved itself to
be quite capable.
==Capabilities:==
The Brash often performs best when it hangs back at range, firing its twin
Firmir Maxilase Large Lasers and single Lightning Strike PPC into the fray,
while the heavier assault 'mechs close. However, this does not mean that the
'mech is defenseless at shorter ranges. Close in, the Brash can begin firing
its battery of Firmir Standard Medium Lasers, often forgoing the use if the
Lightning Strike to keep heat levels down. For point defense, the 'mech
carries a pair of Firmir Laserlite Small Lasers.

I really like your design. It's rugged and durable, has great armor coverage, and a hard hitting weapons load. Just one bone to pick with you. You over maxed your armor, again. The 70 ton frame can support 13.5 tons of armor which gives you 216 armor points. You mounted 14 tons which gives you 217 armor points. Are you telling me that a whole half ton of weight is worth it for 1 measly armor point? Pah! Take that half ton and use it more effectively. Add a small laser! That or downgrade another weapon and use the 0.5 tons to add something else. C3 slave perhaps. _________________ If ignorance is bliss, then why are you so miserable?

I really need to start paying attention to how many points are left over. I'll correct the problem _________________ Evil is like a bowl of oranges. Only one, instead, is an orange of DOOM. That orange has a fate to rule over the other oranges with an iron fist. That orange is me.

I wasn't sure if you had realized you do that or not. Just had noticed on a few of your designs you had done that. Max armor is nice, but it gets old real quick if it's all you see. _________________ If ignorance is bliss, then why are you so miserable?

The weapons are very similar to a Lancelot, while the speed and armour are similar to a Gallowglas. In fact, the Gallowglas has similar weaponry, too (remembered that just as I typed that in).
Which means I could not reward you with the highest marks. I tend to want new designs in new designs! Don't get me wrong, I don't doubt your originality for one second. You just had the very bad luck that something very similar has officially been done before!
My review of the Atlas 7E by ........ (forgotten) comes down to the same thing: an excellent design only gets a 2.5, because it is essentially extremely similar to the Imp.

That would be me. And yes, it was blindingly obvious once you pointed it out. If I'd remembered that the Imp was set up like that, I probably wouldn't have bothered. It ended up being like the ... Locust and Mercury, yes? Same weapons, different name.
And now back to Warhammer.
Despite its similarity to designs I don't recall the full details of (guess I'll be looking it up, though), I like this 'Mech. I've always liked energy boats. It's not perfect, which is both good and bad. Good, because I think it adds character, but bad because it's not perfect. Hope you've got some friends around if you meet any Pumas.

No hard feelings, I hope. I genuinely felt sorry for you - after having gone through all that trouble, I give you such a bad mark, just because I happen to love a 'mech which is similar to your design. Ah yeah, the Imp....
And Warhammer: 3025 - that obviously biases me against your design, too. As I've said many times, when I ever play lvl2, I will always play Clans. However, if I was forced to play IS lvl2, I think just about the BEST 'mech ever would be the Gallowglas. Which carries a PPC and 2 LL....

Damn! You are right!
Well then, without any of us consulting the books, we've already got three designs that share the same weight class and primary weaponry!
Sorry, Warhammer: 3025, but you may want to go back to the drawing board....
