Got to looking at some of the other mecha on the site and remembered they had these pics. Didn't know if anyone else had posted them, so here it is.

Yes, mechs like the Griffin, Wolverine, Shadow Hawk, Golitath, Scorpion and the Thunderbolt all came from Dougram.
Now I am still trying to find Dougram on DVD or VHS but no luck so far.

Last I heard, the Dougram master copies were destroyed in a fire and that no spares had thus far surfaced.
Oddly enough, the version of the 1987 Japanese Transformers series that was supposed to have come to the US was also said to have been destroyed in a fire.

The link I gave you is to that site's main Dougram page.
There should be two links in the main portion of the screen. Click on the top link and it should take you to a menu. Said menu will have the images.

The japanese invented the big robot anime series but its a pity that their stuff became more and more gundamish rather than the military simplistic of their 1st few big robot animes.

It's funny you should say that considering the original Mobile Suit Gundam series started the whole "realistic military robot" genre in Japan...it was the first series in which the robot mecha were considered just grunt machines, similar to tanks, rather than a superhero-type weapon...

One of my friends said it well:
Gundam is how another race (non-humans) would develop giant robots: sleek, fast, and agile.
BattleTech is how human's would (big, slow, and rigged for bear)
