*Squiggy walks through the door, holding a bag of ice in his right hand. He pauses to hald Lurch his pistol, then moves over to the bar. As he sits down, he shifts the ice a bit, and reveals a large, angry-looking burn on his pointer and middle fingers.*
Yeah, did something really dumb. I didn't wait for my Wolfhound's laser to cool before atempting to alighn them.
OOC: I burnt my hand nicely pushing a lawn mower into the back of a golf cart at work on Monday. I got it part in, and it slipt back. On reflex, I reached out again, and grabbed the muffler. I let go really quick, shouting "Oh f*ck that's hot! Oh f*ck that's hot!" Luckily, I was right by the clubhouse, so I went to the bar and got a bag of ice. Damned thing hurt for about 12 hours.

I once got a really bad burn while changing the oil on a really hot vehicle. It blistered up, and then scarred bad enough that it bothers me... because I got hit on the cheek, not too far from my nose. A fairly obvious, and painful spot.
I've also burned my hands on Machine Gun barrels after extended firefights on field ex with my Army unit... they get really hot. It's also really cool at night when you get the barrels so hot that you can actually see the bullets travelling down the barrel!!!

ooc- rule #1: never grabe hot objects.
rule #2: never put ice on a burn wound, it will only damage things worse. Instead use cool, not cold, cool running water.
Just an fyi to you all, you should also never put anything on a burn other then cool water. All those burn creams and home fixes will just agrivate the problem or make it harder for medic professionals to treat it.
I learned this first hand after my car accident when i was burned 2nd n 3rd degree over 45 percent of my body. It hurts like a bitch, takes forever to heal, and them scares itch like a bitch.

Do you mean to tell me that I shouldn't put butter on it... followed by some lettuce, tomato, coldcuts, and another slice of bread...
Sorry, just a little hungry.
