==Overview:==
When the Stormvanger facility was destroyed during the Seccession Wars,
mech commanders across the Inner Sphere mourned. Among the casualties was the
Javelin, a potent recon / raiding platform despite its inherent flaws.
With the re-opening of the Stormvanger plant, it was logical that some of
the original designs should also be brought back. Of their designs, the first
one to return was the Javelin.
When the decision was made to re-start production, the designers looked at
the basic design of the mech in order to correct its flaws - mainly its
infamous torso imbalance. This flaw was corrected by re-doing the structure,
as well as moving the torso-mounted jump jets out to the side torsos to act as
a counter-balance. However, all this re-designing has radically altered the
mech, and so the Javelin II designator has been attatched.
Of note is that the traditional SRM racks have been replaced with three
LRM 5 racks. The decision was made that with the Javelin's comparatively thin
armor and reliance on ammunition, it would be better to make this unit an
intercepter and long-range fire support mech.

==Capabilities:==
Re-positioning the jump jets has provided an unusual benefit for the Javelin
pilot. In the event that the mech does fall (it suffers no penalties, as the
torso imbalance no longer exists), the player can opt to stand using the jump
jets; this provides three opportunities to stand back up, but with the normal
penalties associated with jumping.

For those pilots who prefer the original weapons mix, one Javelin II in
four has the SRM 6 racks. This version is known as the 12S.

It would use some backup weapons, 6/9/6 speed is good for fire support, but it doesn't prevent other lights from closing. But it would mean nice surprise for those who expect standard model.

Like I said - the decision by the designers was that it could no longer be used as it was originally intended, so they changed the weapons load-out to compensate.
