I agree with bladewind here:
Shortrange weapons are not a good idea on a C3-master unit!
Fluff says that commanders wanted to join their lancemates but are you shure that the DCMS would allow to construct a mech with such critical hightech equipment vital to the performance of the whole lance to be build as a shortrange-fighter?
Single deep penetration lances may be useful but if the lance-CO has close to the enemy to support his lancemates he will be prime target and soon the lance has no benefit from their c3-network!!

Well, I don't think that ER meds are too short ranged. With C3 you can fire them from long range, that can be 10 hexes, if you stay back and let your lance mates provide targeting data for you. I wanted this mech to lead lances of speed demons with similar (or higher) speed profile against similar opposition. Having something like PPC may look nice, but when there are enemies with similar speed you'll need firepower, not range.
Maybe I'll make some variant with long range firepower.

If you only engage targets with shortrange weaponry this will shurly work but enemies with long range weapons will concentrate their fire on the leader as soon as they realize the c3-network. If you slay them in short time you will get away lucky!

Against enemies with long range weapons you should use hit and run tactics or simply avoid contact unless there is someone to provide heavy firepower (heavy lance providing support would be nice, just as two lances of C3 equipped Panthers )
I don't think that this mech is well suited for standard combat situations, it should coordinate scout group, and move with it. I won't try to engage heavy lance with four Spiders...
