You knew this had to be coming right? I went and saw the film this afternoon at the first showing (well...there was a midnight showing last night, but I had been up since 4 AM that day, after getting only about 4 hours sleep...no deal)...
Let me just say...THIS MOVIE ROCKED!
It more than made up for any problems with Episode 1...although it did start a tad slow (well, after the first few scenes it slowed down a tad anyways), but the last hour was almost nonstop action...and what action...man, I can't wait to see it again this Sunday!
BTW...for those of you with young kids...you MIGHT want to reconsider taking them as you see SEVERAL arms and legs get chopped off...flying creatures getting chopped in half...and even some decapitations...no blood (darn lightsabers cauterizing (sp?) the wounds)...but still...
Anyways, on to spoilers...
Rule 1) NEVER fight Yoda in a lightsaber duel or with Force Lightning...when he fought Darth Tyranus after that Dark Sider had sliced into Obi-Wan and cut off Anakin's right arm, you couldn't help but be amazed by his abilities...it's clear now why HE is the one who trains many (if not all) of the young Jedi in the arts of the lightsaber...
The relationships between Anakin and Obi-Wan and Anakin ("Anakin, you'll be the death of me yet.") and Padme really show the duality of his nature...his goodness that wars with the arrogance, the anger and the fear that are within him...
Jango Fett was cool (of course he was...why else would they create an entire army of clones based on him, otherwise?)...and you can see why his son became so cold in the future...and man...Slave 1...that ship is IMPRESSIVE...I can see why Boba would keep it as his ship now...
Jar Jar returns...but it ain't so bad...he's only in like 3 or 4 scenes...AND HE IS ONE OF THE PRIMARY CAUSES OF THE DESTRUCTION OF THE REPUBLIC AND THE FORMATION OF THE EMPIRE! Well...at least he eased the Empire's creation...
R2 and 3PO back together again for the first time...ah, now there's the proper comedy relief for this series!
Anakin is already slipping quickly to the Dark Side now that his mother has died in his arms...
"They're animals...and I slaughtered them like animals. Not just the men, but the women and children too."
I'll leave it at that...just these last three words...
GO SEE IT!

I have to agree this movie rocked. Plenty of action and the two droids are great together again. Yoda rules my world!

What I really liked was the original versions of the AT-AT and Star Destroyer...
I didnt like the few things Georgy decided to mess with in terms of the Death Star. Bevel Lmensk was supposed to design it in the Maw installation after Palpatine and Tarkin thought up super weapons (Torpedo Spheres, Death Stars, Sleeper Ships, etc).
Oh well....saber duel was cool. But its a shame they are stealing all of Exar Kun's trademarks (first force user to use 2 lightsabers and the first Sith to create the double-blader). But, hey...the entire series fail to mention that he was much more powerful than Palpatine, Yoda or Anakin. Well, they kinda cover tracks when they say most powerful jedi, Kun fell before he became a jedi and was the most powerful Sith ever. HAH! Suck it Vader!

I'm not sure Lemilisk was ever anything more than a creation of the RPG, so he doesn't really count...

WOW WOW WOW WOW WOW, It rocked it rolled. It moved my soul.
I loved it. For the past week I have been waiting in line. And after the movie. Went to a two day party by the DFW fanforce club. I just got back.
This movie explained alot about the Star Wars universe that I had issues with. About Boba Fett, The stormtroopers. And Yoda.
A excellent flick. I plan to see it again.

I had a Chuckie flashback when Yoda pulled that sabre and started doing all the kung fu moves. Why didn't he take that big cylinder and slam it into the back of Darth Tyranus' ship? Oh well. I also had a brief b'tech moment when that big spheroid dropship started lifting off. I thought it looked an awful lot like a Union class.

I agree,it had Union written all over it! And thank goodness for Jango Fett. We finally got to see what we wanted Boba to do but never got the chance to.
Is it me or were all the decapitations a bit much? Was george thinking he was filming GladiatorII or something?

I don't know about the rest of you, but when the first movie came out I was a Junior in highschool and I was there wiht my date way back when. I was blown away by Star Wars then. And I must say that this one blew me away equally. I cannot imagin what the other one is going to be like. I hope and pray it will far exceed this one. Darth Vader is born!

Me too, My mom took me, three times. I was in Awe. Loved the Dual Weapon fight, however short it was. They had some slow parts in it, but overall it was great.

I just got back from my second viewing of it...
It still rocks!
I place it at least above A New Hope, and close, if not surpassing, Empire Strikes Back as the best of them all so far...can't wait for the third one...it's supposed to be the darkest of them all...
Oh, and I loved the trailors for the two Matrix films and Men in Black II...definitely going to have to see them...
