My family is attempting to locate the military records for my maternal grandfather.
We have his name, date and place of birth, date and place of death, enlistement number, and date of enlistment.
Does anyone know of a place where I can go for more information? We've already tried Ancestry.com, and that was a bust.
Thanks. _________________ "I wish I could write as mysterious as a cat." -Edgar Allen Poe"I knew there was something special about you, but I never realized you were really a cat." Wolfwood to a random cat (Trigun)

Okay you can start with Human Resource Command in St. Louis. I will dig up their public phone number.
Also Ft. Hood should have someone at the VetAffaris that can help get you started with requests of the military as well.
If you have the date he enlisted and where he did his basic and other such things it will help out.
I will look into this on base and see if I can find someone to help you out. Please note that next week I am in the field, it should be it's normal chaotic mess, and i will be able to better help once that is done. _________________ Karagin Only the dead have seen the end of war. - Plato
