Well I put it here but it could be off topic also.

The real long a short of it was I took an earlier flight on Wednesday from Atlanta to Toronto. On the flight was the singer, drummer, and bassist of the metal band Sevendust. I have all but one of their albums. I was pumped.

Sitting up front I told the stewardess to give them drinks on me. Lajon came to the front to use the head (it is a CRJ so sort of small) and I ask if they are heading for a gig or to record. It was a concert that night. After talking for a little they put me on the guest list and back stage passes.

What is missing from this story is I have a broken ankle, 4 places, and am still on crutches after 12 weeks. Also I do not live in Toronto, going for business. But this is that once in a life time deals. It was a long ride from the airport, where I was staying, to downtown, but I got the cab and went. With crutches, aircast, business slacks, and formal sweater I showed up.

Odd banging your head on one leg. Bouncers were cool to me. No one gave me shit. I was on the edge next to the retaining wall. Place to hold and not get jostled too much. Lajon picked me out of the crowd and gave me a thumbs up. Before they started the encore Sevendust pointed me out to the crowd and just stated we met on the plane. That metal is the blood for many of us, even for a business guy with a broken leg.

The after show back stage was a little lame but it is understood. The guys did say hi and were genuinely happy I showed. I think they had a bet I would not. But hanging with the strippers, crew, and a few others brought back memories of my youth as a bouncer. Concert was good, small place, Lajon voice seemed a little off, could have been the mixing, and crowd not as ruckus as I have seen at previous Sevendust concerts but by no means lame either.

AWAD- I have a story for life..... and my sons will be hard pressed to trump that in the future Wink
