The older soldier stopped at the door as usual, quietly depositing his old-fashioned slug thrower with the ever-present doorman Lurch. He removed his black beret from his head as he walked in from the doorway, turning it inside out as he placed it in one of the pockets of his camo-style combat uniform. The soldier looked different... maybe a little older (there was a bit more grey in his hair), maybe a bit wiser (he was uncharacteristically sober), maybe it was that he was in uniform for once... Possibly, it was just due to the lack of visits in recent memory?
The soldier walked in, letting his eyes adjust to the normal level of dankness that he'd missed in the last, years?? Truly, it had been too long...
He walked up to the bar, pulling real money from his pocket this time, laying a large stack of C-bills on the surface. "Chihawk, I think this ought to cover my previous shortfalls."
Chihawk slowly counted the money, it was a large stack indeed...
"A beer for old times sake?" Alexander asked. Quickly one appeared in his hand. Alexander turned to the people (using the term loosely) assembled in the bar and said, "Miss me?" _________________ War is God's way of teaching geography.

Alexander takes a slug from his beer... "Well, I can't talk about all of it... some of it's classified, but most of it is just embarrassing... but, getting ready with my unit for another big deployment..."
He slides around a stool and sits. "Going to one of those sandboxes where most of the others like me go... But, I think I'm about ready... besides. I could use a good tan! Anything new happening here?" _________________ War is God's way of teaching geography.

Ya, the old guard is either to drunk to contact reality, sleeping as if they've been on deployment for a month, or are walking around here with walkers and depends!
*sips his tea and eats a bite of tuna*
We are feeling completely overrun by new bloods. Which is nice, but man breaking them in gets tiresome after so long. Plus with the effects of aging they are becoming impossible to catch and brand.
*on cue a young warrior goes running by chased by a bunch of warriors with walkers and a brand.*
*whispers* That cost a fortune to setup. _________________ one must work hard to cultivate the mind and body. and one must always cultivate the mind.

Jarylan watches the warrior run by, chased by the branding party. "Man, am I glad I got in here before they started doing that to new arrivals..." _________________ Jarylan Blackwell

"I got on the lucky side of that, when it broke first time I was here, someone handed me duct tape. Since then, I been too sticky with tape and glue to move, too slippery with oil to catch, or too heavy with tools and components to actually make it that far when someone did throw me." _________________ Jarylan Blackwell
