I might consider scrapping the flamer for another ton of AC/5 ammo, but this 'mech carries too much ammunition for comfort as it is. You could also replace the flamer with a medium laser, which would help to alleviate the loss of point-blank firepower caused by the AC/5's minimum range restrictions. With an extra medium laser, this design might actually have more effective short-range firepower than the 5S design, which doesn't really have the heat sinks to use all of its lasers at close range anyway.
Extra points for the good fluff. I can see Liao using a proprietary non-standard caliber AC/5 (say 46.29mm to keep client states dependent on their arms factories. |
Heh, I always thought that traditionalists around will like this thingie
I always saw the TDR-5S as a little bit of a Swiss army knife and so I wanted to keep the anti-personel weapon. Flamer worked just fine, because the Liao doesn't care much about burning of private property, if it isn't theirs. It supports building industry
Aside from that I didn't want to further decrease the armour and single MG for 100 shots gives me shivers (as do two with 200). _________________ The dragon NEVER sleeps!

Actually, from what I can tell, Liao doesn't care either way. Even if it is their property. _________________ Jarylan Blackwell
