I remember reading in Maximum Tech that critical slots for 'Mechs could be decreased as 'Mech tonnage class decreased. Instead of decreasing critical slots how about increasing them instead? 'Mech heights are supposed to be about 12 meters, but I've read in books that some 'Mech heights could be about 16 meters tall and the BattleTech anime TV series preview indicated that some 'Mechs were 50 feet tall. Also, allowing more critical slots as tonnage class increases would enable official designs to be consistently rulewise with custom designs. So it makes sense not to decrease critical slots but to increase them as tonnage class increases.

Well, 'mechs are actually all wonky and overlarge and should be cut in half to have some 'realistic' useable size. You can really do what you want with your home rules, but I like having limited critical slots and toying with dramped internal space to fit what I want in there. _________________ The dragon NEVER sleeps!
