Well you are all familar with the Timberwolf (Mad cat to you surrats). I have taken this into a few battles now and as long as I watch my heat I have done VERY well. 5 battles 4 victories 1 loss
2 Lrm 15's +2 tons of ammo + 2 Artemis
6 Er meds
4 Er small
4 Jumpjets
2 Heatsinks
Targeting comp
These are distributed 2 Er meds in each arm and then the remainder in the torsos.
Let me know what you think (Im sure someone will think its munchy but oh well ) My only loss was in a lucky hit to the head by a clan erppc. I was going to use Med pulse but I really think they get over used and I couldnt get the same damage output with them or even movement with them.
Well let me know

All in all a well rounded mech, covers all ranges and with it's weapons for specific ranges it's a rare day that it overheats, I'm guessing.
Tho I hate UACs, I've devised a nice setup for a TimberWolf that uses UACs. I'll post it elsewhere. _________________ Nova Commander Tarn (Elam)

Actually, its not bad. I could see it being put to some good use. I still prefer my mod of the D variant (flip the 2 rear SSRM6s foward), but this isnt so bad.

Kinda effective, in a Blackhawk sort of way, but I think you can do better.
Jump Jets: Take 3, 5, or none. 4 isn't a happy number.
Weapons: Multiples of the same range can be effective, but can be frsutrating ... you're a one-trick pony with them, and if your one trick is hurt, you've got nothing to fall back on. Take at least a pair of ER Large, some LRMs, *something*, so that you don't get Gaussed to pieces. You also have nothing for vehicles, nor infantry. IS troopers in teh woods would have an absolute field day with your legs, and there's no counterattack you could make. Good for tapping on a generic IS mech with a bad pilot who constantly closes in on you, but that's the *only* thing it can fight.
I give this a straight C. It does the one thing well, but its just too narrow-focused for me. That said, in the mech-dueling front, it'll probably dig through IS pilots that are foolish enough to close.

It does have LRMs...2 of them, 15 packs...with Artemis.

LOL about what I expected. I had to keep the LRM's that generally is what I use to whittle away from a distance. Ive alos got a variant that switches out the er smalls for a srm 4. OR is it a pair of 2 and a half ton? oh well cant rember and cant find the sheet for it.
I was going for a lok that actually resembled the mini and a even uniform look to it. The only pplace I did have a big problem was on plains terrain with nothing to block my advance to the enemy, then got tagged by a erppc to the head.

I can't believe I didn't see those LRMs on there.
Pardon me, I'll be under the porch.

No biggie.
I do hope this raises the grade from a C to a B or even a B+ though

why's 4 an unhappy number? I find it fits nice with the leg crits.

Personally I don't like it. The lack of a decent punch of weapon, of at least PPC caliber, limits its usefulness. Drop those lame LRM's in favor of something big, nasty, and direct fire.

4 is a bad JJ number becuase it does not give you any targeting bounses over a 3 like 5 does. If a Mech can move 5/8 then that Mech should be able to jump 5.
I personally find anything besides full jump a waste of the tonnage used for the JJs. The classic Shadow Hawk being the best example but the Timber Wolf Pryde is up there as well.
