The US Men's Soccer Team pulled out a last-minute victory in a World Cup qualifying match versus Panama, earning themselves a comeback win.
...and in the process, due to a quirk with the way the ranking system works, also kept Mexico from being eliminated despite Mexico having just lost a match against Costa Rica.
Cue individual members and representatives of the US team taking to Twitter over the matter.
I can see things getting hilarious if the American and Mexican teams wind up facing off. _________________ "I wish I could write as mysterious as a cat." -Edgar Allen Poe"I knew there was something special about you, but I never realized you were really a cat." Wolfwood to a random cat (Trigun)

It's not a quirk. If Panama had won they and Mexico would have had 11 points each, with Panama gaining the slot because of a better goal differential (MEX was -2, a Panama win would have made them at worst -1).
Mexico now plays New Zealand in a home-home match with the aggregate goal winner moving on to the World Cup in Brazil. _________________ www.210sportsblog.com
