I *think* I just spotted a possible glitch in my version of Heavy Metal Vee, and I want to see if anyone else has seen this.

I was wondering what would happen if someone was to give a fusion engine to a Musketeer, but since my version of Vee doesn't have the stats for anything so "new" I tried to put one together by hand.

Although it rightly recognizes the fact that the Musketeer's being 50 tons and moving 7 / 11 gives it a 115-rated engine, the Tech Info screen calculates the weight of the engine as 6.67 tons and hits me for 3.33 tons for shielding and transmission equipment.

The 3067 says that the machine's 115 ICE weighs 10 tons, and so a fusion 115 should weigh 5 (I don't have my master rules handy to look it up). This means that the shielding should be 2.5 tons, for a combined total of 7.5 tons rather than the 10 tons total.

Is my math wrong, or do I need to look for a patch?

Thanks.

edit -

Assuming a weight savings of 2.5 tons, I included an ER Medium Laser and an RL 10 in the front, accompanied by an ER Small on each of the side facings.

That is because hovercraft have the additional rule that their engine (including shielding) weighs 20% of the total mass. You always round that up.

For the Musketeer that means the correct weight for its 115-rated engine is indeed 10 tons.
