Comment: THE level 3 handbook. This is what you want to use to add complexity to the game. Rules that cover almost any situation can be found here, or extrapolated using these as guidelines.
Howver, such rules DO slow the game down, and are stated in the book as such, so are to be used with caution.

Comment: A good way to expand on rules you don't like, think are to soft or to add realism. As long as both parties agree you can take any or as many rules as you like. The new rules expand on alot of the vague and misleading ones from the Master rules and compendium.

Some of the new weapons are good, although adding to many rules will make the game slow and much more complicated. Just choose the ones you like, i use the weather and movement rules, some things really add realism. Like the ability to use a building or object to keep your weapon steady.

All in all alot of new material and expansions, its really worth the money.

Comment: This is a very solid rules expansion; some of the 'mech rules are a bit munchy for my taste, but the infantry section is pure gold.

Comment: For those of you who think the original rules are 'too mushy', this book will apeal to you. New weapons, new tactics, wether and terrain rules. Even a way to make unarmored infantry less vulnerable. This book has what you need to red-line your battletech games.

Comment: This book is useful for more advanced players. The rules are level 3 but are used so much now that many players consider them to be the same as level 2.The rules that are contained within are well balanced and mesh smoothly with official level 2.There are many people who feel that these rules should be level 2.While not legal for tournament play they do work very well for regular games.
