Nice mech with good mobility. It's like a LCT with the ability to handle rough terrain. MGs are more than able to handle infantry and laser can threaten vehicles with ease. Fielding this mech against heavy opposition in any other role than as a harasser is foolish.

Gunslinger Patch has this one nailed shut. Classic mech, dirt cheap, great trainer and militia mech. good for anti-infantry work, and urban defense. The 3G is the better mod for anti mech fighting: 2 ML and more armor. I'd use it over the locust due to jump ability.

The chance of this mech getting some free time to use those MG's can never appear. Jump jets are good, speed is good and med lasers are good but those MG's are just not good.

It´s a good recon (and even training) Mech able to do anti-infantry-work. If the enemy doen´t have fast mechs it can be usefull to make them nervous by jumping around in their rear (I have lured 2 Hunchbacks from the front for 3 rounds with one of these! And my Stinger was able to leave the field under its own power!)

Of course its a good mech, its a classic! The Locust is faster, but it don't have hands and can't jump like a stinger.
And like the locust this is the mech you can put a green pilot into since losing the mech won't break your unit's finances.
There are better light mechs mechs for front line service and house units will reflect that and use Stingers to train the recruits. But for many local forces, militia, periphery, pirates, and mercs there are limits to the purchasing budget and the Stinger will be a common sight.
