An odd mech. Technically we have Locust's big brother, but unless you pack it with some new tech or lighter engine it can stay at home. As 7/11/0 (and right set of weapons and armor) it would be great, but now it simply cannot beat the Locust. Maybe that it may find some good use as a practice target for light mech pilots, teaching them how to flank fast moving targets, but in combat? Maybe if you need a fast element in medium/heavy lance and there are no assassins around. (I should stop with this review. The more I type the lower the rating)

At first it looks good, then you play it. In duels it does fair, but in lance formation and scenarios it is an odd duck out. They just seem to be targets and die. Only place it does well is kicking, but it does not have enough armor to take the return kick. If it was a tad bit slower then it could be vicious.
GM- I use it on occasion. 1/2 of them die quickly, the other half do little, are ignored and then retreat off board

A monster Locust! Mobility and armor are equal, these weapons are superior, but it is still a medium mech. Too much mass was used to make this so fast that Locusts, Spiders, and Ostscouts run scared.

A Cicada is a Locust trading half a ton of weapons for more internal structure. It can be usefull as a light mech hunter in open terrain but I´ll take 2 Locust-1E for the same price!

This design was meant as a competitor for the locust and should never have been built. And more, it is still in production! Why didn't the Mariks build something better in that factory?
The firepower is better then a locust, better range and a little bit better damage. But the leg,head, and side torso armor is worse while the rear armor is better.
But in the end, this thing costs more to repair, and maintain then a Locust does and a merc unit can buy 2 Locusts and have 700,000 c-bills left over. Even House Marik should not be buying this mech for that same reason.
