Overview:
    The Mauler is the name that the Federated Commonwealth uses to refer to the house mech
    designed by the DCMS. This project is a slightly different take on how the original can be
    upgraded by the Free Rasalhague Republic feels theirs should be built.
    
    
    
    The plans were stolen or given as they came from Comstar to the FRR, yet when this build
    began to be produced in the FRR. The plans showed up as well on Luthien and one line of
    Mauler production was swapped over to it.
    
    
    
    The MAL-2R features jump jets, an endo steel frame, and double heat sinks, to back up LX-2
    autocannons, which have recieved both the AAA targeting suite as well as the C3 Network.
    This seems as superfluous as the GHR-7K's setup as only one can be turned on at the same
    time.
    
    
    
    So most pilots will choose to flip between one to the other, however it is a process that
    takes almost 18 seconds in the heat of battle. Requiring the pilot to turn off his current
    system, wait several seconds as this command takes hold. Then start up the other system
    which takes almost ten seconds to start up and take over.

Capabilities:
    This mech features for its long range firepower, an ER Large Laser, an LRM 15 well stocked
    with ammo, two LB 2-X Autocannons with both cluster and slug ammo. The eleven double heat
    sinks easily shunt this as long only jumping is done.
    
    
    
    In the close range bracket the Mauler has a well rounded suite of two Streak SRM 4s, a trio
    of Medium Lasers, and a single ER Medium for a little better range when neccessary.
    
    
    
    The C3 slave is the one piece of equipment that is the most use when the skirmishing phase
    of the battle is occuring. Once it gets up close and personal it becomes superfluous. Still
    early on it can allow a Mauler pilot to get a series of well placed shots on target.

Deployment:
    Both the Draconis Combine, and the Free Rasalhague Republic produce this variant, however it
    isn't widely seen except in sometimes the Free World's League but there its missing the C3
    in exchange for CASE being installed in the torsos.
    
    
    
    Rumours also float of mysterious Gun Metal Gray Mauler's occasionally raiding planets
    controlled by WOB but those reports are uncomfirmed and unsubstaniated.
