================================================================================================
Overview:
Designed at the same time as TND-1A Tornado, the FSL-1A Fusilier is a new Taurian Concordat
unit. Produced at Taurian Territorial Industries on Taurus, the Fusilier is a faster 'Mech
than the Tornado, but is only lightly armed in comparison. While the Tornado was selected
for general production, the Fusilier has been designated as an export design--though some
are in use among TDF units.
Capabilities:
Capable of reaching speeds of 84 kilometers per hour, the Fusilier has heavy armor
protection for a 'Mech of it's weight class. Armament consists of one HWC (Hyades Weapons
Consortium) Retaliation class 10 autocannon with sufficient ammunition to fire twenty
bursts. A pair of matched HWC Stiletto Gold medium lasers are embedded deep in the armor of
the 'Mechs chest. While no other weapons are mounted, the Fusilier does have a
fully-articulated left hand designed for use as a battle-fist for punching.
Deployment:
Only a dozen FSL-1A 'Mechs are in use by the TDF, primarily with the Taurian Lancers.
Forty-seven have been produced for export, however, the majority being sold to mercenary
forces. In 3026, agents of the DCMS purchased four for evaluation for possible service
under the Dragon. Since then, negotiators for Luthien Armor Works have been attempting to
secure a licensing agressment with TTI, though no agreement has yet been reached between the
two nations.
Variants:
The FSL-1B is the only variant currently being produced by TTI. The -1B replaces one medium
laser with a machine gun and a half-ton of ammunition, both mounted in the left arm. At the
present moment, there is no information on any other official variant.
Notable MechWarriors:
MechWarrior Sergeant Amanda "Vixen" Hastings of Charlie Lance, 11th Heavy Cavalry pilots a
Fusilier named "Bahama Mama" with that merc unit. Sergeant Hastings has had her FSL-1A for
nearly a year, and despite heavy combat, has never had her armor penetrated. She considers
the 'Mech a lucky charm, as do her fellow lance-mates, none of whom have taken signficant
internal damage over the last 12 months. Three months ago, Vixen made double ace, when she
destroyed three Long Star regiment 'Mechs in action on Bell.

Quite surprisingly similar to the Koschei battlemech from the 3075 TRO, or the downgraded Champion, but more efficient than either of those. The Fusilier is pretty fast for it's armament, but it isn't that stellar. For a medium machine it's merely average, but it could be far worse IMO. Thanks to heavy armour and relative lack of things to destroy the FSL-1A will act as a typical zombie. Advancing toward the enemy and absorbing a lot of damage along the way. It's like a plain wooden club. Nothing fancy, but it'll do.

Too be honest, I have become quite a fan of your whole TDF series but this design isn't something I care for. Like how the vedette is for tanks, I feel the same way with this design. Effective but nothing special. (I'd prefer a centurion or an enforcer)
And IMO, I can't picture the dragon purchasing these from the TDF. A rank and file medium mech (a weight class which the DCMS generally disfavor) produced by a periphery nation. They feel superior to theif fellow houses I could only imagine how they feel about those who aren't even a member of the successor states.
Still the fact that both the TDF and DCMS mistrust the Davions so much, I guess that would provide some common ground.
