Overview:
After the BSN-1s adoption, it was deemed necessary to make a version capable to keeping up
with a wider variety standard mech and vehicle battalions, something the BSN-1 could not do.
To achieve this, Vandenburg mounted the Magna 260 fusion engine manufactured by TMI, but
were forced to sacrifice all energy weapons save for one small laser, and some of the
armour, to achieve this.
Capabilities:
The BSN-2 is fairly versatile platform. Its Magna 260 engine allows it to keep up with and
support other assets on the ground, and it capable of engaging most targets effectively. it
does this with its turret mounted Imperator Code Red LB 10-X autocannon, supplied with 2
tonnes solid and 1 tonne cluster ammunition. A Delta Dart LRM-10 gives it long range
punching power and limited indirect fire capability, and is supplied with 1 tonne of
reloads, and is also mounted in the turret. A single Magna Small Laser is mounted in the
hull as a fallback weapon. Despite losing some armour to mount the larger engine, this model
is still well protected by 12 tonnes of Durallex Medium Ferro-Fibrous armour.
Deployment:
The Bison is deployed as per Taurian combined arms tactics, in standard vehicle maniple
formations to support and supplement the advance of infantry platoons and Battlemech lances,
made possible thanks to the larger engine over the previous model. However, given the lack
of energy armament, it had much lower battlefield endurance than the previous model.
